Gourmet credentials – Modern, elegant and in pleasing contrast to the hotel’s trad New England air, Muse has caused quite a buzz since it opened its doors in early 2014. Younger sibling of the restaurant at Vanderbilt Grace in Rhode Island, Muse has been setting epicures a-chatter with its seasonal local fare (Connecticut Blue Point oysters,farm-reared Rohan duck, Maine lobsters and scallop mousseline…) and rewarding refined tastes with an extensive caviar menu. Under chef de cuisine,Sheffield-born Jonathan Cartwright, executive chef Stephen Barck presides over a menu that keeps one eye on the Mayflower’s spa guests – nothing too flabby or salted – but lets rip when it comes to dessert…
